Senior Occupational Therapist

Bexley is an outer London Borough with the best of both worlds, located between the hustle and bustle of London and the Garden of England, Kent.
Within the borough we have award winning parks, open spaces and listed heritage sites.
We have an opportunity for a Senior Occupational Therapist post within the Adult Social Care Reablement Team. The Reablement team is a multi-disciplinary integrated team consisting of occupational therapists, social workers, Social care assistants, and physiotherapists working with clients in their own homes.
The Reablement service helps people to retain or regain their skills and confidence so that they can learn to manage again after a period of illness.
We use a ‘doing with’ approach with an emphasis on participation and partnership in working towards agreed goals in a holistic, strength-based, and person-centered approach. We work with clients for up to six weeks and we work Monday to Friday. We are looking for a qualified Occupational Therapist with proven skills in the management of multi-professional staff, and a firm grasp of working in a multi-disciplinary environment.
You should have a clear understanding of the Care Act and of the national agenda on the integration of Health and Social Care.
You should be able to demonstrate a firm commitment to person-centered working and have a ‘can do’ approach to management challenges.
You must also be able to foster a performance culture within the staff group and be able to identify and deal with performance issues as they arise.
